Showcasing our sealing solutions for the challenges faced by clean power technologies.
Wednesday, 29 March 2023Building on success in European markets, James Walker is taking its green energy sector-leading technology to the CleanPower expo and conference this Spring in the USA.
CleanPower brings together decision makers and stakeholders from across the wind, solar, storage, hydrogen, and transmission industries to grow the clean energy industry.
CleanPower unites to chart the future of this powerful industry and discuss the opportunities ahead. As previous attendees attest, the conference grows clean energy businesses by gathering key for discussion, deal making, networking and fun.
The event’s mission is to not only bring together the different technologies that make up the renewables mix; onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, storage, and transmission but also the different segments within the industries; manufacturers, construction firms, owner operators, utilities, financial firms, corporate buyers and more.
With an anticipated attendance of over 7,000 visitors, James Walker is joining more than 380 other companies in showcasing its latest technology and solutions for the many varied challenges faced by OEMs, owners, operators and those involved in the maintenance of clean power generation plant.
Wind energy
Our latest sealing technology specifically developed for large diameter shaft sealing in the next generation of turbines, plus our innovative techniques for on-site joining and fitting of replacement seals, which helps save on maintenance resource and costs.
Cost saving is also a key driver behind our bolting technology options - particularly remote condition monitoring - which can offer savings of up to 75% compared to traditional bolt checking methods. Find out more about wind energy here.
Hydrogen service
There is a gap in standardised and agreed methods of evaluating, testing and approving components and materials for use with hydrogen and James Walker has taken the initiative in undertaking a programme of product and material validation.
The objective is to give customers confidence that specific products or materials are suitable for hydrogen service, and that any such selection can be supported with evidence from relevant testing. Find out more about hydrogen service here.
Solar power
Focused on the development and validation of solutions to combat extremely aggressive media and very high operating temperatures, we are helping to support customers in this sector by providing effective sealing options for pumps and valves operating molten salt media in heat storage and transfer of thermal solar power generation. Key aims are to assist in minimising unscheduled downtime, enhancing plant efficiency and improving on-site safety. Find out more about solar power here.
Carbon capture and storage
Transportation and storage of carbon dioxide can present a number risks and technical challenges. These include variations in system temperature, elevated pressures and significant volume changes.
Sealing components exposed to these extreme environments need to be tested and proven to operate in difficult conditions, with product and material selection supported by test data and proven field experience. James Walker has conducted testing with 100% CO2 across a number of materials to ensure that the products offered can cater for the most demanding applications in CCUS service.
