James Walker is made up of different legal entities and this Privacy Notice is issued on behalf of James Walker Group Limited, company registration number 176600, incorporated in England which, together with our subsidiary companies, forms the James Walker group of companies (“the Group”). As such, when we mention "James Walker", "we", "us" or "our" in this Privacy Notice, we are referring to the relevant company in the Group that is the controller of your data.

2. What personal data do we collect, hold and process?

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, which we have grouped together as follows:

5. Direct marketing

When you make an enquiry or purchase products our Website, you will be asked to indicate your preferences for receiving direct marketing communications from James Walker and its Group via EMAIL, SMS, PHONE and you will also receive marketing communications from us if you have requested information from us or purchased goods or services from us and you have not opted out of receiving the marketing.

We may also analyse your Identity, Contact, Technical, Usage and Profile Data to form a view which products, services and offers may be of interest to you so that we can then send you relevant marketing communications.

If you opt out of receiving marketing communications, you will still receive service-related communications that are essential for administrative or customer service purposes for example relating to order confirmations for a product/service warranty registration, updates to our Terms and Conditions, checking that your contact details are correct.

There are additional rules we must follow if we collect certain types of more sensitive data, known as Special Category Data which would include details of your ethnicity, beliefs, health and sexuality. However, we do not collect any Special Category Data about you.

Do we ever share personal data?

We will share your data with:

• Third-party business partners that support our business, such as bank, PayPal, courier, partners, vendors and subcontractors, analytics providers, advertising and marketing agencies, credit reference agencies, and other third parties we engage.

We do not share or sell your personal data to any third parties for marketing purposes.

8. How do we keep your data secure?

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. 10. International transfers

We share your personal data within the James Walker Group. This will involve transferring your data outside the UK to our overseas offices.

Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the UK to countries which have laws that do not provide the same level of data protection as the UK law, we use specific standard contractual terms approved for use in the UK which give the transferred personal data the same protection as it has in the UK, namely an Intra-Group Data Processing and Transfer Agreement that incorporates the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses for international data transfers and the International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses for international data transfers. 11. How long do we keep your data for?

We will keep and process your personal information for as long as necessary to meet the purposes for which it was originally collected. By law we have to keep basic information about our customers (including Contact, Identity, Financial and Transaction Data) for six years after they cease being customers for tax purposes. We have also provided you information on how long we kept specific information in the table above.

In some circumstances we will anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes, in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it could take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
