Nuclear event success

Birchwood Park Engineering and Technology Solutions Exhibition

Tuesday, October 1, 2024

September was a busy month for events and exhibitions for the James Walker team and once again, we were pleased to attend the Engineering and Technology Solutions Exhibition at Birchwood Park.

One of the biggest nuclear events of its kind to be held at Birchwood, we were happy to engage in discussions with both new and familiar faces. With a diverse range of products and solutions for the nuclear industry, it was both productive and informative to be able to explore potential collaborations and discuss sealing and bolting requirements with numerous representatives and businesses based at the park.

Some of the James Walker product and service highlights included:

  • Innovative solutions: Showcasing our expertise and experience with solutions beyond elastomeric sealing, including semi-metallic gaskets, thermoplastics, bolted joint integrity and critical metallic sealing. Attendees were impressed by the breadth of our capabilities and solutions addressing increasing temperatures, pressures, and harsher environments.
  • Large-scale sealing: Highlighting James Walker’s in-house material formulation and extrusion capabilities as well as fitting assistance for large-scale projects via our Services team.
  • Lead shielding: Leveraging our advanced material technology and expertise to enhance safety and efficiency in nuclear facilities.
  • Custom seals: Collaboration and custom-designed seals tailored to glovebox configurations and operational needs, including critical containment areas.
  • Testing and validation: Our expertise and in-house facilities for extensive testing and validation across multiple performance standards.
  • RotaBolt: Our RotaBolt technology, particularly RotaBolt Vision was a popular topic with its potential as a safety-critical component in maintaining flange integrity, reducing leaks and failures in high-pressure systems, and providing clear visual tension status indications.

Overall a very successful event, with thanks to those that visited our stand – we look forward to working with you in the coming weeks and months and we will be back at Birchwood in May 2025.
